For the fourth consecutive year Squire Patton Boggs has been ranked by Lexology Data: 100 (formerly Global Data Review 100), which profiles the world’s leading 100 law and advisory firms with data privacy and cybersecurity practices, among the Global Elite band of firms in its 2026 edition – the highest tier reserved for the top 25 firms worldwide.

Additionally, the firm ranked among the Top 10 for advisory and compliance capabilities, recognized for strong client relationships and expertise in global data management.

Alan Friel (Los Angeles), Chair of the firm’s global Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & Digital Assets Practice said: “We’re proud to be recognized once again among the world’s leading data law firms – a testament to the strength and expertise of our global team. 2025 was a transformative year for privacy law across the US and Europe, marked by sweeping regulatory changes, advancements in AI governance, mass arbitrations, and biometric privacy – reshaping compliance obligations worldwide. In today’s dynamic, data-driven environment, Squire Patton Boggs is committed to helping our global clients navigate complex regulations, maintain compliance, and mitigate litigation risk.”

Lexology praised the firm for its international reach and expertise in privacy governance, cross-border data strategy, incident response, and technology-driven transactions, noting its reputation in vendor-side adtech work and significant lobbying strength. The outlet also highlighted the group’s expansion with the addition of Lydia de la Torre (Palo Alto), a former California Privacy Protection Agency board member, who returned to the firm as Of Counsel.

Lexology further recognized many of the team’s experts whose advice spans multiple jurisdictions, including Kyle Fath (Los Angeles), Kyle Dull (Miami), Glenn Brown (Atlanta), and Julia Jacobson (New York), with cross-practice collaboration across Corporate, Litigation, and Intellectual Property & Technology groups. The recognition also included Morgan Miller (Washington, DC), Scott Warren and Connor McClymont (both Tokyo), Kristin Bryan (Cleveland), and trade secrets specialists Ronald Lemieux and David Elkins (both Palo Alto).
