HB-328 jumped the legislative line in North Carolina this past week and was swiftly passed by the state’s Senate. It is headed to the House this week. If enacted, HB-328 will wreck the state’s booming hemp industry.

The Missouri Attorney General recently sent out a slew of letters regarding “Illegal Hemp Sales to Missouri Consumers”. Unfortunately, the AG misstates the law, at least when it comes to THCA in harvested hemp and hemp products.

The lights are dimming for the Texas hemp industry, which looks poised to suffer a massacre. Although the final text of Senate Bill 3 may not be available for several days, it likely prohibits all hemp products that contain any cannabinoids except CBD and CBG.

Making hemp-derived cannabinoid products illegal, or reducing their accessibility, will result in more private citizens choosing to use federally illegal marijuana products and hence, reducing the number of individuals who hold national security clearances. This undermines US national security in a volatile global threat environment.
