Amazon’s New Home Internet Service A Step Closer To Reality. Amazon has successfully tested its coming satellite internet service that hopes to provide Internet access to 400 to 500 million rural home locations in the next year or so. Will it be able to compete with Starlink? Pricing hasn’t been announced; but any competition is always good for consumers. Amazon says its equipment will cost around $400, versus $595 for Starlink, and it is expected that the monthly cost will be lower also. I am most intrigued by the portable 11 inch dish that is promised for up to 100 gbps down, which is fine for most uses. If it is offered for moving boats and RVs, it might be a winner. Let the Internet satellite wars begin. Amazonsatellite
