The threat from within. J.D. Vance delivers a stirring defense of free speech. I am an unapologetic advocate of free speech. Without it, there is no freedom. Without it, we have no country. When our European counterparts put people in jail for saying the wrong thing, they risk their very independence. If this last election was about anything, it was about getting back to the rough and tumble representative Democracy that we love. J.D. Vance, whatever you think about his politics, or those of President Trump, gets it. He delivered a speech last week to the EU that cut through the bullshit, and elegantly let them know that the U.S. was back on the path to freedom of speech. If you oppose any of the fundamental freedoms Vice President Vance spoke about, you are on the wrong side of history. It is time to stand up for the First Amendment to the Constitution. It is time to be counted. We may hate what each other says; but, as Americans, we will defend to the death your right to say it. Speak your truth. I will speak mine. Together, we will support each other’s right to speak freely. Every American, and lover of freedom, needs to listen to the Vance speech.
