I have written before about the maturation of the smartphone business. The phones have become so advanced that new ones are usually no more than incremental upgrades. This is true of the new Samsung S25 Ultra flagships. My Galaxy S24 Ultra works fine, and I have used it happily for over a year. As a tech influencer, I like to stay on the leading edge of technology; but I had resolved not to buy the new phone. $1,295 was too steep a price to pay for a phone that was only incrementally better. However, the new phone is thinner and lighter, and is more powerful, and the cameras are better as well. I decided to buy the new phone when Samsung offered a $900 trade in on my old phone. And, Samsung threw in a $250 pair of bluetooth earphones for $20. Amazing. So, for the total cost, with tax, etc of $480, I get the latest, greatest, smartphone on the planet. And, the new phone has Galaxy AI built in. I will still use Sunshine at Chat GPT, but I am looking forward to testing the new mashup of AI in new tech. What’s not to like?
